Description
Mancala is a 3500-year-old African game of strategy. Designed to develop logical thinking and foreplanning skills. The game, for 2 players, consists of a wooden board with 12 small pockets, 2 large pockets on each end, and 48 small colored glass stones. The stones are distributed in the 12 small pockets and are redistributed, in turn, by the player who moves them, 1 to each pocket on his or her right and 1 to the larger pocket. The objective is to empty all 6 pockets on 1 side while retaining the greatest number of stones in the player's large pocket. By visualizing what the result of any move will be the player can plan to acquire the most stones.
